Our Story

Nestled in the heart of Central Otago wine country, Cromwell Golf Club is more than a place to tee off—it’s a place to connect, unwind, and belong.

Established in 1903 and now home to one of the region’s finest 18-hole courses, our Club has a proud history of welcoming golfers of all levels.

With a focus on community, accessibility, and a love for the game, we’ve grown from humble beginnings to become a destination for both serious golfers and social players alike. Come for the views, stay for the people.

Over 120 Years of Golfing in the Heart of Central Otago

Since 1903, Cromwell Golf Club has been part of the beating heart of the local community. Set among the rugged hills, vineyards, and lakes of Central Otago, our championship course is New Zealand’s most inland links course—and one of the most beloved.

It’s a place where seasoned players, enthusiastic newcomers, and generations of families have shared great golf and even better company.

Following a major course upgrade in 2010, supported by the Cromwell community, we’ve grown into a nationally recognised destination. We now host top-tier tournaments, including the last New Zealand Open Final Qualifier, and welcome golfers from around Aotearoa and the world.

But for all that’s changed, the spirit remains the same—relaxed, welcoming, and deeply connected to the people who play here.
